Timothy Spall At Sea on BBC Four is a series that sees actor Timothy Spall accompanied by his wife Shane, sailing around the British Isles in their own boat, the Princess Matilda. The pair of self-taught mariners have to face plenty of challenges along the way in negotiating and navigating the often treacherous waters and rocky coastline that surrounds the British Isles.

Timothy Spall at Sea on BBC Four is a divided into a set of three series. The first, Timothy Spall Somewhere At Sea is set over three episodes, was first broadcast in 2010.It follows the pair at the start of their journey, and tracks their progress from Cornwall to the Bristol Channel to Penarth in Wales where they moor for the winter.
The second series Timothy Spall Back At Sea was broadcast in 2011 and takes up the journey from Wales right up to Scotland, visiting the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland. This second season takes place over four episodes.

The third and final series Timothy Spall All at Sea, sees the Princess Matilda at her winter mooring in Scotland and follows the final leg of the journey around the North East and down the East Coast eventually concluding in Chatham. It is a dream of many sailors to circumnavigate the British Isles and the sense of freedom, scenery and coastline certainly looks fantastic.
