Love reality competitions? Can’t get enough of Simon Cowell? The X Factor USA on ITV and now available via youriplayer.co.uk , delivers the entire series of the X Factor USA in one massive talent fest of broken dreams crushed egos and occasionally stellar performances.
X factor USA is one of the biggest TV shows in the world The aim is to find new singing talent and performers who possess the indefinable X factor or star quality, drawn from public auditions held in different locations around the USA. The show is open to anyone over the age of 12 and has attracted some controversy around the concept surrounding the public humiliation of often young children.

Devised and produced by Simon Cowell, the programme originated in the UK and the USA version of the show began in 2011. Today most countries across the world have their own X Factor show. It is a truly global phenomenon.

X Factor USA is hosted by Simon Cowell as one of the four judges along with Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland – who also took part as a judge in the British show, Demi Lovato a female singer songwriter and Latin pop star Paulina Rubio. However, the judges panel changes each season, with the exception of Simon Cowell and previous judge have included Paula Abdul and British singer Cheryl Cole famously sacked for her strong accent!
X Factor USA follows a strict format. First, the public auditions where each singer performs in front of the judges. The show broadcasts the best, worst and most bizarre contestants taking part in the audition process and part of the show’s appeal is the sarcastic comments made by Simon Cowell.

The next stage of the process is Boot camp Here the wannabee stars are divided into categories and mentored by one of the four judges. They are further filtered out through further performances at boot camp and performances at the so called “judges houses” before reaching the live performance stage of the contest and ultimately the final.
Expect tears, uplifting true life stories and blatant tugs at the viewers heart strings as the contestants make their way to the X Factor USA final and possible stardom
