Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People on BBC Three is a sitcom show that follows the life of Lee Nelson a likeable and cheeky Sarf London chav as he gets himself into a variety of situations. In this series, Lee tries to get a job, experiments with selling a whole new alternative to weed, and tries out the benefits of living in the dark, assisted by a cast of characters including girlfriend and his best friend. The result is extremely funny and there is something so likeable and irrepressible about Lee that he is quite endearing. The critics have not been that favourable to Lee Nelson, calling his first stand up show “an unwatchable half hour of despair “ and similar. However, the public and viewing figures have not reflected this opinion and Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People was commissioned despite these criticisms from the media.

The secret behind Lee Nelson is that he is funny and when it comes down to it that is what we want from a comedy show. Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People can be crude at times but it is a fresh new comedy show that is proving to be popular with the viewing public. Even if you do not fall into the demographic of the BBC Three audience, Lee Nelson is certainly worth a look. As Lee would say Qualitee.
