Young Dracula is a children’s supernatural, horror programme aired on CBBC and aimed at a teenage audience. It draws its inspiration from Young Dracula AND Young Monsters, which was penned as a book for children and was written by the author Michael Lawrence.

The filming of Young Dracula started in 2006 with the latest series being filmed in April 2013. Previous series have shown the Dracula family, a family of vampires, moving to Wales with the Count being determined that son Vlad will become “the chosen one”. In 2008 Young Dracula was nominated for a BAFTA for the Best Children’s Drama.

New characters in Young Dracula have been included in the latest series including Erin, who gets on well with Vlad, but there may be more to her than meets the eye, and Bertram whose mission is to teach Vlad to utilise his magic to open the book the Praedictum Impaver.
