Winterwatch
Have you got your slippers on and a warming cup of something ready to drink on hand? Then it is time to watch Winter Watch airing on BBC2 from Monday 20th January at 20:30. Winter Watch is a nature programme bringing you live wildlife reports on how the birds and animals are surviving the bleak of winter, into the comfort of your own living room.
This time of year sees the intrepid crew of Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Martin Hughes Games don their woolly hats and mittens and head for the edge of the Cairngorm Mountains. 46rtg55g
Winter Watch is coming from Mar lodge in Scotland and with temperatures of minus 27.2 degrees Celsius recorded there; it is officially one of the coldest places in the UK. BBC camera crews will be stalking these Highlands in search of red deer, otters, ptarmigan, mountain hares and a host of other wild and often cold species in this remote and wild region.
The photography in this wildlife programme is undeniably well made and sometimes beautifully filmed. However, for those of you who want to brave the outdoors at this time of year there are plenty of features in Winter Watch that will allow you to take part in nature at this time of year without arctic weather gear.
Winter Watch on BBC Two will be taking a look at Brighton’s urban fox population including a study by Oxford University on how birds feed at this time of year and the team want you to take part.
