William Whiskerson on BBC Two is part of the BBC Two’s output especially for schools, and is an entertaining way for children to learn about geography. William Whiskerson is a puppet mouse explorer who goes on his travels to learn about the subjects that feature in Key stage one Geography lessons. The programme is aimed at children between 5 and 7.
Previous episodes have included William Whiskerson visiting a mountain and learning about electricity, visiting a bee farm to learn about honey and how the bees live, and learning the difference between a river and canal by taking a trip on a narrow boat.
William Whiskerson is an enjoyable programme that is entertaining as well as informative. Although it is easy to dismiss educational programmes as being potentially dull, William Whiskerson would not be out of place on the CBBC timetable and it is a fun way to learn about geography.
