Under The Dome on Channel 5 is a new American drama series, which will delight science fiction and horror fans everywhere and has already been a big hit in the USA since first aired by CBS in 2013. It looks set to become a big hit in the UK as well and has already been sold abroad to other European countries. The series is based on a Stephen King novel of the same name and Stephen King himself has been involved in the production alongside Steven Spielberg and many other big names in film and entertainment.

Under the Dome is set in a small town called Chester Mills in Maine and follows the story of the residents and the events that occur when the town is cut off from the world by a huge dome set in place by extraterrestrial activity.
Inside the dome, the residents struggle with maintaining normality combined with diminishing resources and the tensions of being confined. Secrets come to light and not everyone is what they seem in classic Stephen King style.
Outside the dome, the military and media gather and try to figure out how to break into the dome, rescue the inhabitants and deal with whatever alien life force has set the dome in place.
Under The Dome was the highest viewed TV series in the USA and has attracted vast audiences, going to number one in the audience rankings and is certainly a series that should not be missed. A second series is already in production.
