The Sparticle Mystery is a Sci Fi Teen drama broadcast on CBBC and set in modern England. When a scientific experiment, the Sparticle Project goes wrong and sends everyone over the age of 15 to a parallel universe, the children who are left have to fend for themselves. At first, it is fun as they raid shops and enjoy life without adults’ rules but gradually society breaks down into gangs and tribes and resources begin to run out.

After working out that the cause of the adult’s disappearance is linked to the Sparticle Project one tribe of eleven children, attempt to realign the two worlds and bring the adults back. They are helped on their way by the notes of Doomsday Dora a scientist who had been working on the Sparticle project, and they have to battle against gangs who prefer to live in this adult free existence.

The Sparticle Mystery on CBBC is a good quality high budget programme with some excellent performances from a diverse and largely inexperienced cast. It cost over 3 million to make, making it one of the most expensive TV shows on CBBC,
There have been two series of The Sparticle Mystery so far, with the show increasingly growing in popularity since it started in 2011.Although this CBBC show is for children, adults will probably enjoy it too.
