The Bletchley Circle is a crime series set in the 1950s and features four women friends who once worked as code breakers at Bletchley Park during WW2 now struggling with going back to their pre war roles of mothers and housewives. This changes when Susan Grey when reading the newspaper report about a serial killer, spots a pattern in the crimes and reunites with her old Bletchley Park colleagues in order to track him down.

The pattern to the crimes has been overlooked by the police who dismiss Susan Grey’s theories, but is obvious to the women trained in code breaking skills during the War. Series two takes up the story where it left off at the end of the first series and this time sees the code breakers getting together again to help one of their former colleagues Alice Merren who is in prison and accused of murder.

The women attempt to prove her innocence and there are plenty of twists turns and surprises along the way as well as the women fight for justice - not easy in these days of sexism and male prejudice. The Bletchley circle on ITV has been popular with viewing audiences and is a clever and well thought out crime drama series, which has already run to two seasons. .
