The Agenda
The Agenda on ITV tags itself as a weekly programme of informed, thoughtful and entertaining commentary on three of the burning issues of the moment. It is hosted by ITN News’ very own Tom Bradbury who is the political editor for the station and has been since 2005.
The Agenda features four guests consisting of two men and two women. One is usually someone from the world of politics with the others from the world of culture, sport, media, music and business. Tom and his four guests then discuss three trending news story from the last 24 hours in front of a live studio audience.
The audience are required to listen silently and vote with a show of hands on a question posed during the show. There is some debate whether the audience is really needed for this show because they do not seem to play a great role in it, other than to be quiet and attentive. This really should be the job of the audience out there in TV land and the show is a little like having BBC's Question Time without the audience questions! 46rtg55g
However, the Agenda on ITV has a lot to do in its half hour time slot and if anything is wrong with the show, it is the cramped time slot. A silent audience and a continual barrage of the host saying "Very briefly now" to the guests is probably the only way to get the three stories covered in the time available.
Although this can make the Agenda a bit of a “News Lite” program, it is informative enough to get some quick background on the current news affairs. The Agenda has been running since 2012 and is surprisingly popular. Catch up with the Agenda via youriplayer.co.uk and get all the latest in current affairs news.
