The A - Z of TV Cooking on BBC2 is a new cookery show that host John Torode introduces with the words “This is the show that brings together some of TVs top chefs and goes through their best recipes, letter by letter from A to Z. That pretty much explains the whole concept of the series so you know exactly what you can expect from it.
John Torode, the co presenter of Masterchef is the modern king of the TV cookery show! In this series he presents a selection of cookery features linked by a letter each week until he completes the alphabet. You can watch the latest episode of The A –Z Of Cooking via youriplayer.co.uk The A - Z of TV Cooking on BBC 2 follows the “100 best” format of Television shows where a TV celebrity links together film clips stitched together from previously seen shows.
The A - Z of TV cooking goes through the letters of the alphabet featuring recipes that begin with that week’s letter. This might seem a bit flimsy and well worn for a TV show and it’s true that this type of compilation programme is an easy and cheap way for broadcasters to fill in their timeslots.
However the A – Z of TV Cooking uses the best of the current crop of TV cookery programmes as source material and the result is entertaining and interesting. From A for Apple Crumble to V for Vindaloo there is sure to be something to tickle the taste buds and create a culinary masterpiece Well maybe! We can only wonder what they will do when the series reaches its last episode and hits X! . X is for?????
