Something Special is a children's television programme   broadcast by the BBC Network and aired on CBeebies.
The programme aims to increase young children’s awareness of the world around them and  introduce them to Makaton signing.
 
Something Special features the Tumble Family whose main members include: Mr Tumble, Granddad Tumble and Baby Tumble; it also  features signing as well as clips of young children and popular nursery rhymes.
Each episode incorporates a simple and repetitive format enabling viewers to learn new information and to also recall previously learned facts regarding their surroundings.
The show also features aspects of the Early Years framework designed to enhance children's learning.

Something Special is produced by Allan Johnston who worked as a teacher of children with special needs prior to joining the BBC. 

The show's webpage also provides viewers with additional activities through which they can learn, while being entertained at the same time.
