Smack the Pony is a Channel 4 female comedy sketch show featuring Sally Phillips of I’m Alan Partridge and Miranda fame and Fiona Allen of Coronation Street and Happiness fame.
The ambiguous titled show often featured characters that would appear once rather than often although there were reoccurring themes in Smack The Pony.

These include a nude fellow who would appear amidst the girls’ daily routines, resulting in them passing out in shock and then recovering and in another sketch and a lady wearing ridiculously inappropriate footwear for participating in sporting activities. The show would often end similarly to French and Saunders by sending up a band. Smack the Pony ran from 1999 for a period of four years.
