Pramface
Pramface on BBC Three is a sitcom that follows the lives of a couple of teenagers Jamie aged 16 and Laura 18 who meet at a drunken party that results in Laura becoming pregnant.
Both are determined to do the “right thing”; for Laura this means keeping the baby to become a single mum – or Pramface, and Jamie to be a good dad and face up to responsibilities. The story follows the pair as they struggle with their parent’s reactions and cope with the stresses of teenage life and the pressures of work and money combined with the looming prospect of parent hood.
The situation is complicated by Beth – Jamie’s long-term friend who has dreamed of having a relationship with him, Mike, Jamie’s awkward teenage friend who resents the arrival of the baby and Danielle, Laura’s fun loving pal who offers support but prefers to go out partying. Added to the mix are the parents and their view on the situation and their own personal relationship problems and stories.
Pramface on BBC Three was first broadcast in 2012 and the first series dealt with the pregnancy and all the events leading up to the birth. Series 2 which came out in 2013 deals with the stresses and strains of looking after the baby as well as Jamie’s attempts to get Laura to commit combined with the stresses of school and exams.
The friends, Mike Danielle and Beth are strong supporting characters who seem to highlight the differences between being young an unattached compared to teenage and tied down to a baby. As with real life, neither option comes without its problems or its humorous side.

Pramface has proved popular with viewers and has been sold to US TV giant Hula and a new season is already planned for 2014.
