One Man and His Campervan
One Man and his Campervan on BBC 2 follows Martin Dorey, a campervan fanatic and complete foodie as he travels the length and breadth of the UK in one of his classic VW campervans. Each week Martin parks his van up somewhere new and searches for a camper van feast that evokes the flavour of the area.
From his park-up base Martin goes survivalist as he searches the local woods, beaches and hedgerows for food that he can prepare and cook. He also meets local farmers, fishermen, gardeners, growers and holidaymakers in his search to get the local tastes for his current pitch.
Martin does his best with the limited amount of space and supplies he can fit in his van, using the VW campervan’s tiny kitchen to prepare food with occasional help from a barbeque.
One Man and his Campervan on BBC 2 lives out a sort of idealistic fantasy. It is escapist to the extent that you keep expecting him to get out his surf board and start searching for the perfect wave.
However, it is fun and Martin and his campervan go to some amazing areas throughout Britain's spectacular coastlines, woodlands and cliff tops. The show also visits stunning parts of the North East of Scotland, the Lake District, Yorkshire, Devon, Norfolk and more.
