Nigel home grown seasonal veg is very much a part of his cooking process.Nigel Slater is one of Britain's most respected cookery writers. He began his literary career writing for food magazines, leading on to several recipe books being published. His first book was Real Fast Food and later his autobiography, Toast: A Story of a Boy's Hunger earned him a Glenfiddich Award and critical acclaim. Nigel a Wolverhampton boy began cooking very early on and by the age of 16 he was already working in restaurants all around the UK. He then went on to be a food photography chef and a recipe tester before succumbing to the lure of TV. 

 

These days he is a full time TV chef where he has attracted solid fan base. You don’t have to be a fan to enjoy this show. Nigel Slater’s New Years Suppers on BBC One will appeal to anyone who has ever struggled for inspiration at mealtime.
