Minder is a popular British drama series focusing Arthur Daley, an unscrupulous individual engaged in an endless attempt to gain financial profit by any means possible.
It is aired on ITV4.

Originally aired in 1979 and lasting for 11 seasons, Minder focuses on the criminal underworld and in particular, Arthur Daley, (George Cole) a sharp witted ex-con obsessed with get-rich-quick deals, both legal and illegal.
A key part of the show details his relationships with  the individuals he manipulates into doing his bidding, including his bodyguard, Terry McCann (Dennis Waterman) and Dave (Glynn Edwards), the owner and barman of the Winchester Club, as well as his conflicts with officers of the law.
In spite of his flaws, Arthur Daley occasionally comes to the assistance of an individual in need, even at the risk of his schemes falling apart, showing he has an altruistic side.

At its peak, the Minder was one of ITV’s most popular shows drawing an average of 10 million views per week. v510tv
In 2008,   Channel 5 attempted to revive the series with a focus on Arthur's nephew Archie, (Shane Richie). It was however cancelled within less than a year, due to poor ratings.
