Have I Got a Bit More News for You
Have I Got a Bit More News for You is an extended version of the popular BBC One topical news quiz, Have I Got News For You. It includes the extra material cut to keep the show within a half hour slot. Some of the edgier comments that do not go out on HIGNFY, make it to the extended Have I Got a Bit More News for You as well as some of the out takes. For real fans, you get the bonus of an extra 10 minutes of the show.
HIGNFY is a long running and popular show – it even has its own abbreviation! It has been a regular part of the BBC One output since it first broadcast in 1990 and has featured many prominent politicians as guests on the show. Team leaders Paul Merton and Ian Hislop have been on the show since it began but since original chairman Angus Deayton was ridiculed and then sacked from the show because of allegations about his private life, the position is filled by a new guest chairman each week.
Have I Got A Bit More News For You often focuses on the new chairman. These have included several unsuitable celebrities such as Roger Moore, William Shatner and Bruce Forsyth and the out takes can be a highly entertaining addition to the show.
