It might be surprising but who would have thought that watching other people watching TV from their living rooms would be so much fun!
It turns out that it is really entertaining and Gogglebox a channel 4 reality show now in its 2nd series looks like becoming one of the most popular shows currently on TV.

Meet posh boozy couple Steph and Dom, elderly retired teachers June and Leon, families, gay couples and a great cross section of British society.
The show itself is a good mix of reality TV with the quips and jokes usually reserved for the Harry Hill TV Burp type of programme, as well as a review of the previous weeks TV. The real difference here is the blend of jokes and reality TV are entirely made up by the living room occupants.
Sitting through 45 minutes of what must be some of Britain’s most opinionated households airing their opinions about TV live from the sofa is both enjoyable and strangely comforting. We feel that we really are all in it together!
It has some genuinely funny moments too and when you hear families discussing topics such just how much longer Bruce Forsyth can go on broadcasting, you know you are not alone.
If the programme has a downside, it is the view of the traditional way that the families watch TV. It doesn’t take into account the way that people use media these days so in a way it is TV advertising itself the way it wants to be seen.
Despite that, Gogglebox on Channel 4 gives us glimpse of genuine family life through what watch on TV and it works. In addition it is a good TV review show because you get to see clips from programmes you might have missed, so can catch up later.
