Deadly Mission Madagascar
Deadly Mission Madagascar
Deadly Mission Madagascar on CBBC is a wildlife programme that sees eight British schoolchildren travelling to Madagascar to help out on conservation projects. The children carry out a range of projects over the five-week period. They help scientists track down lemurs, help return turtles to the wild, examine the Madagascan reef and similar.
Steve Backshall is the presenter of the programme. He is a well-known British naturalist and wildlife presenter for CBBC. Deadly Mission Madagascar is a spin off show to the Deadly series of programmes, most notably Deadly 60 that sees Steve and his team search out 60 of the world’s most dangerous animals.
Deadly Mission Madagascar is interesting because of the wildlife and conservation but also because of the children involved in the project. They have to survive living in tents, the heat and personal challenges of facing spiders and venomous insects. The children manage to cope very well and bearing in mind that these are ordinary 13 year old kids away from home for the first time, they do very well. Some of the so called celebrities in the jungle would do well to follow these children’s example.
