Big Star’s Little Star on ITV is a celebrity game show with a difference. Three celebrity guests, the Big Stars are joined by their children, referred to as the Little stars and both work together to try to win money for charity.

The show is hosted by Stephen Mulherne, famous as the host of Catchphrase and the format sees the celebrities and their children answer questions about each other. Although the same multi choice questions are asked to both children and adults, the Little Stars answers are pre-recorded and shown as film. The questions are totally focused upon the celebrity’s personal family life and so it does offer an insight into the life of the rich and famous.

It might all be a bit twee and irritating but some of the children provide some cute and comedic answers and it is interesting to see the celebrities in a more family role. Contestants include Jamelia and her daughter her daughter Tiana, Will Mellor and daughter Renee and hardman footballer Robbie Savage with his son Freddie.

Contestants are knocked out through elimination but all contestants win £1000 to give to charity.  The final fourth round requires the final celebrity and child to match images that have a special significance for them and their family for a £15.000 prize.
