BBC Weather was first broadcast cast in  January 1954 and forms a key part of BBC1’s  news bulletins.

BBC  weather is a news segment  dedicated to providing weather forecasts. It currently forms a key part of each BBC news programme and is presented by a special team of professionals contracted to the Met Office.

 Examples of  news programmes which incorporate this segment, include:

BBC Breakfast: The  weather news segment  is presented by Carol Kirkwood  , who reports live from the Blue Peter Garden.

The BBC News at One: It is presented  during  the last few minutes of the  programme,  by Peter Gibbs,  Nina Ridge,  or Nick Miller.

The BBC News at Ten:  During this programme, the weather forecast is provided after the regional news  from the BBC Weather Centre. The team of presenters responsible for presenting the weather  forecast during this segment include: Rob McElwee, Peter Gibbs, John Hammond or Philip Avery.
