Comedian, filmmaker and producer Griff Rhys Jones presents A Great Welsh Adventure with Griff Rhys Jones in a new series on ITV. The show explores the landscape, people and traditions of Wales the land of Griff’s birth and his heritage.
Although Griff Rhys Jones was born in Wales, he was brought up and spent most of his early life in Essex. This series gives him a chance to explore his own past and connect with his inner Welshman. In his own words he says of the series.” I’m setting out on a personal odyssey, you see I was born in Wales but brought up in Essex and now I’m coming back. I want to get to grips with a wonderful, magical, remarkable country – Wales.”

Griff Rhys Jones sets out to investigate the country while trying to reconnect with some of its Celtic traditions as well as appreciating the stunning scenery and searching for his inner Welshman.
Each programme takes on the counties and landmarks of Wales including Snowdonia, the Gower Peninsula, Pembrokeshire, Anglesey, Mid Wales, Conwy, Border and the Brecon Beacons. The series shows the landscape and features of each country allowing Griff the chance to experience some of the traditions and myths that have become intertwined with Wales.
During A Great Welsh Adventure on ITV, Griff takes on challenges to test his Welshness hoping to reveal his Welsh credentials, from skinny-dipping in a mountain lake to searching for the Holy Grail.
Lets see if he manages to become Welsh or if he is just another Essex boy at heart.
