Many of us cannot get enough of cookery programmes and for many viewers MasterChef on BBC One is the king of them all! This cookery contest open to amateur cooks, sees contestants cook against each other and the clock each week in an attempt to impress top chef Michael Roux Jnr and presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode.
Each week the contestants face new cookery challenges as one by one they are eliminated from the knock out contest. Expect moments of high emotion as soufflés collapse or the judges fail to enjoy a flavour combination and the contestant fails to go through to the next round.
As well as the drama, competition and the “personal journey” reality show angle MasterChef is enjoyable for the recipes and the cookery. There are some delicious looking meals as well as the occasional disaster and Michael Roux Jnr ‘and his assistant chef Monica are on hand to provide expert advice to the contestants. The winner of the MasterChef final can look forward to a glittering career as a chef as well as lots of free publicity for their skills or restaurant.
If you like cooking and have what it takes to enter MasterChef, the competition can a life changing experience.
